So excited to have had Foxy's Fortune in the Alpacas from MaRS herdsire line up!
Rose gray, full Bolivian, and handsome, handsome, handsome. Fortune is built like a tank, all on a compact frame. His color is striking, almost a burgundy shadow over his entire blanket area. And have I mentioned his striking profile? What a head on this guy!
Fortune is proven with a few daughters on the ground but he just didn't get the work he deserved at his place of birth. He's placed very well in some tough competition at the shows in WA and OR. He was put right to work on MaRS and the results have been awesome!
He definitely passes on his very boxy frame with a broad chest. He's the perfect choice for your females that need a bit of solid structure. His crias have a nice dense fleece with plenty of character and staple length. We will be shearing his offspring for the first time and can't wait to get the histogram results.
Fortune is currently in Oregon with his co-owner for the near future and unavailable for services in WA at this time. We are retaining at least two of his crias into our herd. We hope to have one of his sons available for breeding services in the summer of 2015.
Dam:
MaRS Tempe
| 35223603 | Dark Fawn, Medium Brown, Light Silver Grey, Medium Silver Grey, Light Rose Grey, Medium Rose Grey |
Tempe's fleece displays nice bundling with character showing uniform high frequency crimp from her topknot to her knees, a trait that has consistently shown itself in our Caramello progeny. She's a beautiful mahogany brown with black tips and a few rose gray, silver gray, and dark fawn spots! Her dam, Camiri, is true black. Her sire, Camilio's Caramello is a light fawn that is throwing lots of color.
Both of Tempe's parents are multi-award winners, and shown in three shows herself, Tempe has three ribbons! Tempe is conformationally correct with a sturdy frame.
Tempe has very correct conformation with a solid frame. She's got terrific density which is no surprise considering both her parents have wonderfully dense fleece. And what a soft handle!
She was bred to MaRS Taxco twice in hopes of getting gray and we've got two! Tempe and Taxco produced a handsome, medium rose gray award winning male, Voo, in 2008. And in 2009 the result was a stunning medium silver male, Argyre!
Tempe was kept open for a few years to help with herd management. She was bred to rose gray, full Bolivian, Foxy's Fortune, and delivered a striking true black female on 7/12/13!
Tempe is held in our foundation herd because we have sold both of her parents and her crias before weaning. We absolutely adore Tempe and she will stay on MaRS for the foreseeable future. We will offer up her offspring as they come available. One day we may entertain the idea of selling Tempe and keeping one of her crias, one never knows....

Details
Strong from birth, Tempe Terra has many positive attributes to add to a program focused on color without compromising fleece quality. Terra's dam, MaRS Tempe, was a beautiful brown with appaloosa spots of silver, rose, and fawn. Upon Terra's first shearing we discovered that Terra also sports some spots in various colors and the black on her face is going gray.
For her first pregnancy, Terra was bred to our finest fleeced herdsire, Phobos' His Royal Phineness. The resulting cria, Cimmeria Terra, is a healthy, robust dark fawn female with amazing fleece! Unfortunately Terra prolapsed her uterus with delivery and there's just no guarantee that she will be able to carry a pregnancy full term.
Terra sells with her registration but without any reproductive guarantee. Our loss could very well be your gain!
